"We have an inflationary society and the only thing that doesn't rise is prop 13 property taxes." WRONG. It always goes up 2% a year. thats about our inflation rate. PLUS it raises EVERYTIME someone buys a new house at 1% of the purchase price EVEN YOU know that the price of real estate has gone up more then inflation since 1998. if 1 out of 5 people move every year, so we have had a complete turnover since 1998. When you buy a new house you know the deal, no ambiguous government "value" is attached AND you know what your going to pay in the future. So PROP 13 has been a HUGE windfall to this wasteful CA. government. "So tell me, I'd love to know, how you propose a "walmart rollback" of medical insurance to 98 levels, can we start with medicare recipients? " ok with me "In 98, unemployment payments were $230 weekly for 6 mos that was it. Today unemployment is $330 weekly for 9 mos. In 98 medical insurance was 40% less. Drug coverage is 200% over what it was then, MINIMUM" Your right we cant afford to pay for this anymore. You have my vote. "Can we cut off their drug mandates from the federal govt?" I dont know, but if we can lets do. "I think you have no answers really you just want to "cut waste"." No I want to cut spending. Some might have to be bone. Cut it across the board and try to keep the politics at a minimum (fat chance) "Mostly because you want your taxes to stay low" You broke the code! "Are you willing to forego all medical services?" Of course. You think thats necessary? 100%? Or was this just a desperate GASP. "I'll bet youre not" I'll take that bet. "I'll bet the greedy old folks who vote with you are not." I don't persojnally represent anyone, But I can tell you, that your rediculas "solution" of raising prop 13 taxes is a classic case of "raise them, not me" Cut the spending, thats the answers. RAISING TAXES, ESPECIALLY PROP 13 is NOT going to solve the fiscal problem. they will always spend what we give them. GIVE EM LESS. My apologys to the board if someone had already responded to this.
