I think gold looks both toward deflationary damage
and to inflationary upcoming storm

debt collapse threatens money generally

monetary inflation came first, and has been for decades
price deflation (from debt collapse and overproduction) is the consequence

the govt response to its multi-year monetary inflation with evermore inflation is the key signal to gold

in 1999 the fuched up Fed talked about a Soft Landing
we get a stock bust and debt collapse

now in 2002-2003 the fuched up Fed talks about a Deflation Threat
we will get subdued hyperinflation
gold is ready for it
