No. c is ashamed of us for defeating the most heinous and brutal despot of our times, without apology. Its not a hidden agenda though, so I don't know how he missed it.

Re: >>"The ACTIONS of the Bush people consistently indicate that our goals are far more hidden.....

What actions....distributing food, water and medical care, rebuilding the infrastructure?"

Jlallen, since you asked, the actions of:

Having no post-victory plan to administer the nation of Iraq including providing such basic services as police protection, fire protection, medical services, electrical repairs, water, sewer and garbage collection and the establishment of rules that would allow for any local autonomy.

Conversely, having well planned, adequately staffed and effective plans and actions to protect the oil infrastructure, including the records, the pipelines, the wells and the buildings. Of course we did this for the "good of the Iraqi people" and not because we see that oil as essential to our economy.

If you want more just read between the lines of any Bush spokesman discussion of the long range future that WE SEE for Iraq. You hear such things as "generation" or "decades long" committment of American forces and influence in Iraq while we "help" them achieve a western style, secular, America friendly democracy. Which is simply another way of saying that we're not going away anytime soon and certainly not while they, and their oil, might not be under our control.

This has to leave the Iraqis wondering; "why are they so intent on "helping" us. We protest against their occupation, some of us are attacking and killing them on a regular basis and many of us are cheering the killers on, we offer them little assistance, the world is largely critical of their invasion and occupation AND YET THEY INSIST THAT THEY WILL STAY AND "HELP" US NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES AND HOW MANY ARE KILLED."

It doesn't take a rocket scientist or even a Watson to figure this out. There must be some other primary reason that they are willing to spend hundreds of billions of dollars and sacrifice the lives of their young. What could it be.....???
