Shock is not terrorism. It's you cannot win. You will be destroyed. You chose to call it appealing to fear and I chose to call it appealing to logic as the Japanese as a culture did not fear death in any western sense.

The culture was only afraid of failing duty, not death. The bomb showed the Japanese who thought they might use that culture to pray on American fears, to sue for a more favorable set of terms with honor, was futile.
