The French did report recession GDP # for Q2 last week.
But IMO the US equity markets and the surging US$ (lower Euro) help buoy the French and esp. the export biased German and Dutch equity markets.

But there is strong undertow under the calm surface of the S&P. Did I mention recently that the chart of the BKX is an accident waiting to happen ?
Well during the recent NASDAQ and DJIA rally the BKX remained relatively flat and last week had 5 small bodies in a row, and a very clear 888 resistance in the bodies, before Friday's big black candle.
Look to me we are watching the accident LIVE.
