Then you would not be logical. What are symbols if not some sort of manifestation of an internal state? And we know enough about people to know that their ability to separate themselves from their group identity is limited. Simply by observing on SI you see people group with people they think they "like" because they agree with the words (which are of course symbols)those people post. Symbols are one of the most powerful things around- that's why all countries have flags, and pictures on their money. You might be happy ignoring symbolism, but you do it at your peril, and I doubt you would really do it. It looks nice in your post, but I bet you don't like symbolism that you interpret as prejudicial to yourself anymore than other people like it. Such symbolism should be kept to the absolute minimum in places people are forced to be present- government buildings, schools, etc. imo
