The DOJ numbers here have been misrepresented. They project that 1 in every 3 black males will at some point go to prison in his lifetime if current incarceration rates remain unchanged. The figures are roughly corroborated by other data, which also show that the black male prisoners-to-be are part of a relative small, but highly active black criminal class . Additional studies show that some 70% or more of black men are not part of this active class and will generate black males who will never see a single day of prison in their lives.“A black male would have about a 1 in 3 chance of going to prison during his lifetime… In other words, there is a 33% chance that the following black males are going to prison: Alan Keyes, Dick Parsons, Walter Williams, Colin Powell, Secretary Powell’s son Michael, my own son, who now has his JD (*chest thump*) and millions of middle and upper class black males. Clearly this is false. But this sort of falsehood is told all across America by people who simply cannot read data and interpret them for what they are. It is unfair.
