This war is a lie, a savage and brutal lie, but a lie nonetheless.

The words "savage" and "brutal" do not mitigate or even threaten to mitigate the force of the concept of "lie." To claim here that the war is "a lie nonetheless", betrays that the author of this article is a numbskull, a lightweight unworthy of further attention.
