Behind the blame of prop 13 is the thought that the older generation did this to you. You’ve turned this economic situation into a hatred of the elderly.

I wouldn't say I "hate" the elderly and of course discussing issues like economics with broad sweeping strokes is difficult. However, I definitely feel that the older generation today, which is the wealthiest demographic in the country, has repeatedly, consistently scewed the young in an attempt to better their personal situation. So as a group, I don't like the elderly much and neither does anybody I know. No biggie, they should be able to handle it though given their demographic position.
Since 1965, benefits to seniors aged 65 and over have risen from 16 to 35 percent of the budget.

If I could vote to repeal social security, medicare etc. and put means testing on it, I definitely would.

Because we have a responsibility to protect older people from being forced out of their homes due to property tax increases.

No- maybe YOU have that responsibility but I do not. I have a responsibility to fairness and equity for all people young or old.
