Agreed, this is a difficult juncture to plot out in the short term. You have succinctly summed up one of my major concerns for this HUI "correction":

If this dollar EW is correct (and it may not be) the next correction (up) in the dollar should be a beaut. This would be a 4, and follow the v of 3. It may get GW elected for one more go.

In the macro scheme of things, gold is a pissant sized David up against a ten story high Goliath and while the victory of little David may be certain in the long run, the battle may go on for a lot longer than most have envisioned. There is far too much at stake in this monetary conflict for it to be a mere skirmish.
