C4T:

Normally, this would be the season in which one would expect to see a significant ramp up in micro production (to provide product for the seasonal selling season). INTC's revenue forecast revision provides mute evidence with respect to just how anemic Christmas PC sales are expected to be.

INTC has a history of setting a very low expectation bar which is inevitably followed by "revised upward" figures.
Cute trick in its early days, but getting a bit stale as a result of over-usage. Of course, the sheep will believe anything in a mania environment.

Finally, it is revealing to compare the expected revenues with those of the past three years. Growth? What a joke. Growth PEs on non-growth situations can lead to..... (g)
