Of course the PMO will deny the report and probably claim it is only a rumor started by lightning in Bulgaria

The Liberals are infamous for their flip-flops on major issues, but their 180-degree turn on the issue of same-sex marriage is unbelievable by even their standards. In 1999, Jean Chrétien, Paul Martin, and Justice Minister Martin Cauchon supported a Canadian Alliance motion, which reaffirmed the traditional definition of marriage and promised that Parliament would do everything within its power to protect this institution. Former Justice Minister Anne McLellan conveyed that it was “not necessary to change the definition of marriage in order to accommodate the equality issues around same-sex partners.” Fast-forward four years and these same Liberals are pushing for a radical redefinition of marriage.

After shirking their duty to appeal an Ontario Court of Appeal decision, the Liberals took the first step towards legalizing same-sex marriage by submitting a draft bill to the Supreme Court. This latest affront to our democratic process is all the more distasteful given the fact that it's being orchestrated by our PM and supported by Paul Martin, the two men promised a decade ago to revive Canadian democracy.
