All my DSL stuff is in a closet, all that's hooked up to the computer is the phone line, or in my case since we're networked the ethernet line. But there woudn't necessarily be anything hanging off the computer. Just plug in the phone line and go. Unless your setup would be very different from mine.

I'm running DSL on a laptop, too, though I don't move it very often.
