Eyewitness identifications are notoriously unreliable in the immediate aftermath of such shocking events....not to mention journalists often get the details wrong....

Heard on the news last night that Israel is already claiming the truck was from Syria, think they're giving Bush new marching orders.

RE: Changing details in the UN compound bombing.

The American official said the investigators had determined that the Russian-made truck was not registered with the Iraqi government, meaning that it may have entered the country after the war.

This is another item which makes this story sound like a product of Rumsfeld's office of disinformation. In a country where all the civic records and papers had been looted, burned, and cast to the winds , how was this unnamed official able to determine so quickly that a certain truck was not registered with the Iraqi government? While it might be possible to have found a paper that mentioned the truck, the fact that they didn't would as easily mean the paperwork is incomplete.

This looks ever more like an attempt to start another chain of lies to justify a new attack on some other distraction.

TP
**In Rumsfeld logic, the absense of any paperwork on the truck would be proof it was registered.**
