I don't see it as sitting on the sidelines at all. Americans do things in a linked and synchonous way. It just takes time to get people up to speed so that they can really help and not be in the way and more of a problem than part of the solution.

Sailing with teens and having to get them to work as team when each as a different amount of understanding is amazingly complex. And in 12 knots of wind a mistake can lead to severe injury. It takes time to instruct and train others in tasks and methods they have never seen before.

The simple act of docking is acid indigestion. The first tact.

LOL, try teaching 8 years how to play soccer.... I've coached and taught 8 year olds, teens, soldiers, sailors, several who could not speak english at all, soccer, sailing and operation of hi tech stuff. Even stuff that make really big holes when it gets to it's destination.

Consider all the stupid stuff you read here and the thinking identified by it and the complexity may dawn on you.
