It's part of "if you can't stabilize here, try over there" foreign policy of the Bush Administration: a companion domestic policy they have in place is "when you start bombing in the polls, bomb a foreign country".

Call it what you like, but Syria has been spreading and supporting terrorists for years. Now that Iraq is out, take out Syria and the terrorists will be very limited in places to get support. I think even Saudi Arabia is getting the message that they may have more to fear from a tough American President then those Religious FREAKS teaching hatred in their country. jdn
