As I understand it, someone admitted helping his request to pilot a fighter along, but denied that he had been asked to do it. For the other, I find the decision to phase out the plane he had trained on sufficient reason to lose interest in further training......

LOL, you really believer there were several hundred more qualified... LOL

Well when I have a job to do, I look for the easy way to come up with a good solution. The son of a decorated WW II pilot goes to the top of my list if I am familiar with the family. I don't care about paper qualifications. I care about character qualifications.

And I also know that those who commanded PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH while he trained as a Pilot held him in high regard as dedicated and competent.

The fact that after some point in time the plane and thus his training made his ability to serve in a meaningful capacity obsolete and meant he was in reality just killing time does not reflect negatively in any way.
