Actually, I'd say the discussion has been productive now that Jerry has explained exactly how spyware can wind up on a person's computer through using QT. Probably if I ever tried QT again, I'd want to open IE, much as I dislike it, and check the settings he mentioned.

Then again, maybe Jerry wants to reconsider how he displays ads on QT, considering how easy it is for advertisers to go through QT's "IE components" and put spyware on a user's computer.

BTW, if Jerry hadn't appeared here and tried to take my head off from the getgo, the whole discussion might have been a lot more considerate. The post he found where I mentioned QT was nothing more than my usual bona fide attempt to help someone out with a problem. I wasn't going out of my way to slag QT. On the other hand, I was plenty pissed when I got spyware from using QT.
