the Ivies don't do practical scientists. Not only that, they don't do a basic Good Liberal Arts either. It's no longer, "learn," its "learn how to learn." PoMo has triumphed. This article points out just how out of touch some of these Faculties are with American thinking and Culture. It all started happening with the takeover of the schools in the '60s. These people really identify with and think like European Intellectuals.
