Thanks for the link with the scenario which IMO will take the worst case, Jay. Unless present administration will find good enough reason to treat Muslims Hitler's and Stalin's way there will be never ending story in the ME with US more and more on defensive.

We learned so much about the wildlife and are protecting species of the animals which consume not so small number of homo sapiens each year who cross their territory. Still the leading nation of this world cannot accept the fact that there are some nations on this planet who don't want to submit and tolerate on their land the superpower which in fact was created not so legitimate way some 200 years ago.

BTW, congratulations on your archaic relic play. Any idea how long buy and sell game in gold stocks will last? And big thanks for the post regarding AEM and PAAS. Didn't have them in my account but took nice profits on other ones early in the morning on Thursday.

Hi Jay, thanks for the Stratfor quote. Re

>>The collapse of the cease-fire between the Israelis and Palestinians creates a regional force that can be contained only by decisive U.S. action in Iraq.<< I can just assume the word "force" is a typo. Maybe there was another f-word used and the editor tried to mellow it down (sg)

Re Shiites in the South - that's pretty calm compared to the Suníte triangle (as per these days I mean); should I read Stratfor as meaning if Iran gets into dire straights (Paul W sends freedom regards) there's a pincer manouver planned or possible...

In any case it's all pretty ugly; where in the world will AG get all the choppers to rain greenbacks (they're all in action in ME). Red Army? They got tons of greenbacks and a lots of people to rain the money on...

Jay, let say the article is a bit to pessimistic. The Sunny's will give more trouble in Iraq and more Syrians and Saudis will cross the border to fight the US forces or sabotage Iraq infrastructure.

Keep in mind that Saudi Arabia or Iran interests are to cut off any meaningful flow of oil from Iraq, not to mention Syria who wish complete failure or Turkey who also would prefer chaos there.

Until the Clan of Saud will not fall or cede power there will be no peace in the ME.

Palestinians call on Israel to sign up to new truce
By Haaretz Service and Agencies

A senior Hamas official said Saturday the militant group was ready to discuss a new truce despite Israel's killing of a senior political leader which he said had led to the collapse of the three month cease-fire declared by militants on June 29.

"I think in political work it is possible to talk about a political step... The leadership of the movement will study any political step presented," Hamas' Lebanon head Usama Hamdan said.
