I should have analyzed Hawkmoon's sentiments quoted above more closely, instead of just making fun of them.

It's part of the neoconservative insanity and hubris to believe that the US beat not only the tiny and tired military of Saddam Hussein, but that it also took on and beat France, Russia and "so many other nations".
