My interest is not one of blame. It's in recognizing when an incompetent decision has been made, so that it's not repeated. In all likelyhood Anan made the decision, if he did, he should be fired for incompetence. Victim? He was probably sitting in N.Y. sipping wine at some banquet when the bombing took place.

Funny, the anti-war crowd crucified U.S. leadership for not protecting a museum a few months ago, yet they are given the incompetent U.N. a complete pass on refusing protection.

Criticizing the almighty U.N. is out of bounds I suppose. What do you figure, Anan thought having a military presence outside the building might incite the terrorists to act against them?

Demonstrating once again appeasement doesn't work.
