The fire is estimated to have burned 19,000 hectares. Officials describe the fire as hot and fast moving. Ministry of Forests has 250 troops on the ground, including a large military presence. 13 choppers are involved in the fight, as are 109 pieces of heavy equipment. An estimated 203 houses have been lost, including approximately 68 in Crawford Estates, 4 in the Kettle Valley, 100 in the Viewcrest, Okaview and Chute Lake areas, and 16 on Barnaby Road. Addresses will not be released to the public, but families and owners affected will be contacted by Fire Officials. Flights Operate Normally
