"Road to Baghdad" conversion

Hardy a conversion. Friedman always applauded the advertised goals of the Iraq war but objected to the way the Bush administration is pursuing those goals. This article simply reiterates those views.

"The Bush team talks as if it gets it, but it doesn't act like it. "

I don't see the "conversion" argument, Bill. This strikes me as quintessential Friedman. He has been a rather long term believer in the project of a democratic, globabally integrated middle east but had misgivings about the way the Bush folk went about it. Those last three paragraphs are as sharp a set of criticisms of the Bush approach as any dem candidate is likely to make.
