I posted here several months ago about storage solutions because I needed to format due to a problem that caused my computer to take forever to shut down. I did get the storage solutions in place but still haven't found the time to format. I'm happy to report I found the error. I had the "guest" login disabled which caused the computer to search in vain for a guest profile. It's been a while, but I think I initially disabled it for security reasons. Reactivating it sure did fix the painfully slow shut down time.
