He's not got the excuse of being an idiot; of course it's "self-amusing mind-games." CH's past mind games have been remarkably personal, cruel and calculated, and his sadism caused a good deal of distress and in one case real harm. Because the TOU had been suspended for him, some of us tried the social sanction of "conveying" to him that he was "not worth talking to," to borrow your phrase; but he was supported, aggressively if not positively avidly by one, and merely implicitly by others, of the posters here. That female response to a male sadist's behavior was the sickest dynamic I've seen on SI, and that's saying something, the site having become in SI Bob's absence a real behavioral sink. When I can, I really plan to catch up on the continuing drama, in which I'm guessing that ironies abound!

Not an insult at all. That's the point you don't get about any of this. One has no control over another's acts. But one has absolute -- ABSOLUTE -- control over how one decides to perceive them. If one wants to consider something an insult, it is, whether or not it was intended as such. If one doesn't want to consdier something an insult, it isn't, whether or not it was intended as such. I don't consider that you are insulting me at all. I just consider that for the time being you have decided you want to close yourself off from someone whose different understanding of one's responsiblity for oneself you choose not to deal with. That's, of course, your choice. But your decision to close down your horizons is no insult to me at all.
