Saddam had violated UN resolutions post 1991 for 12 years. He fired on planes routinely patrolling the no fly zones. He kicked out weapons inspectors. He got caught with WMD in 1998. 12 years is a loooooong time. How is waiting 12 years to let sanctions run their course a sudden rush to invade Iraq?

I guess senile folks don't remember a truck bomb that killed 242 Americans.

And no one in Saudi Arabia would have to worry about a truck bomb killing several hundred Americans sitting in the dessert there.

No Rush to invade, that truck the got the folks at the UN could have been used against Americans sitting in dessert in Saudi Arabia if they were still sitting there.

Abject stupidity is dangerous.

Kenneth,

There is no doubt, that the price of containing Iraq, was 9-11-01.
re:"Iraq was completely contained"

BTW, President Bush in his State of the Union Address, that the Nation could not afford to wait till Iraq became an imminent threat.
re:"There was no imminent threat"
