Why are you so surprised at this? With all the regulations in the US, there still have quite a number of Enrons. And China has not have much regulations (one of the freest market economy in the world now), one should not surprised if China has a couple of small-scale "Enrons".

Thanks for the story. That explains why I lost money on CBA when I bailed out of it several years ago. I never touched it again, for fear of too much creative accounting activities. It was much tougher to get information on Chinese companies back in 1995-1996. You and Yiwu were not around in SI back then. At least CBA is not returning a penny to the dollar like Enron to those who hold on to the stock.
