cox high speed internet service has been experiencing nationwide intermittent connection loss, due, they say, to the worms propagating through the internet.

my cable modem connection has been fine until a half hour ago, when it went down.

i used that opportunity to connect via my "little isp on the prairie" dial up back up service and put zap4.0 thru its paces at grc.com shield's up

everything is stealthed, both the 25 common ports test and the more comprehensive 1056 TCP ports test

when the cable modem is up and running i am really testing my IP thru the nat router. it's the first time i've tested zap4.0 without the router in between.

[edit in: cox is back up now so i put little isp on the praire back in its drawer until next time. broadband rules again]

fwiw & fyi :)
