I've had a bird in my house. It sure does stir things up.

The disposition of my mouse is undetermined. Friday night I set two no-kill traps right in front of my nightstand where I had seen the mouse. At some point during the night I was awakened to the sound of the trap door closing and several times during the night to rustling noises, which I assumed were the mouse trying to get out of the trap. I finally got up, since I wasn't getting any sleep anyway, and found both traps sprung. I gingerly picked them up not wanting to dislodge the closed doors and put them in a box to carry outside. One felt empty. The other had some heft but no apparent movement in the brief time I held it. When I put the traps down on the ground and opened the doors, nothing happened. I saw no mouse depart. It was dark and I wasn't staring at the traps the whole time, but I saw no mouse. It was too dark to see inside the traps, but when I got home, they were empty. So I concluded that the mouse had sprung both traps and the rattling I heard was the sound of him trying to get in, not out, to find the peanut butter.

But I reset the traps last night and nary a hint of a mouse. So I don't know if I freed a trapped mouse or not. I still have the traps set. Maybe some action tonite.

I guarantee you, I will not hold the mouse in my hand like your bird.

We talked about it once or twice.

Which reminds me, I saw a movie the other night on TV that really held my attention called The Promise with Jack Nicholson. I'm sure that movie is old, old news to you, but since I see so few to report, just letting you know that I thought it was good.
