res-Perhaps your problem is you just do not have any real contact with the world beyond the borders of the US -- I get that feeling with most people on this thread.

This ones pretty funny. Let's see...I live in a small community on the Island of Sardinia where hardly anyone speaks English. Currently, I am writing this post from Greece. Last month I visited Croatia and Slovenia. Next month it's likely I'll be in Turkey, and Spain.

One of the fallacies of those who empathize with the French position in regard to foreign affairs, is the false belief that those who disagree with them are simply ignorant. The French don't speak for the majority of Europeans, any more than Canada speaks for North America.

When you get out of the halls of academic European thinking and enter the bars and homes of the average person. You hear quite a different story regarding America's foreign policy initiatives.

Most are happy we are doing something about tyrants like Saddam. All they want is for us to end it as quickly as possible. Oh, and they are in awe of our military power.
