As for Carmanah's profitability, yes, it is a speculation from that aspect at this point in time. To my mind, the significance of the London contract is that it gives them a highly-visible win in the transit market, proving that they can successfully expand beyond the marine market. Ditto for the sales to USAF and O'Hare for aviation lighting. These sales validate their technology, largely eliminating one element of risk in the equation. I have spent a lot of time contemplating this one and had the opportunity to visit when I was in scenic Victoria. From an investor perspective, I was quite satisfied with what I learned of their operations. Great location, tight ship, highly-functional space but definitely not, uh, opulent.
