In BC a low salary is 20 bucks an hour. And your good ole boy will just do so many widgets before needing to go for a few puffs. The Chinee/Mex competition works for from 3 to 20 dollars a day, and their hands move faster than a hummingbirds wings, chiefly because for one, their is a ditch outside where they put the laid off help, and for two, they have 100 cousins lined up at the factory door waiting for openings.

I think Asia SA has the edge when it come to cheapo mundo makeo widgeterio. Environment? That is the worker death rate.. so far satisfactory. Regs? Work or die. Taxes? State takes all. Cost of land? It's not in the equation. The only variable they have to contend with is shipping, and overseas marketing. This they have down to a science with their advanced guard owning the dollar stores.
