<The SOX has had five different 30% declines just since 2000. A sixth is not only likely but inevitable>

And already in the planning stage.

I thought I made it clear that I was voicing an opinion on where I thought the SOX was (not) headed in the short term. As inevitable as it might be, I doubt we will see it start here, for a number of reasons. If the SOX would go up another 5% or more through the end of August then I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the index get hit with a rash of selling once September arrives. The terrorist war will hit the front pages again with a flurry, most of the summer vacations will have been completed and there will be plenty of talk about how far and fast the markets have moved up off the bottom.
