It might not be nice, but they have no right (legal, constitutional, or natural) to demand that they must also be at the BBQ. Tim, that has been my entire point all along, that it isn't nice. I'm glad you're coming around to that way of thinking. Of course no one has a right to be there. Remember, you and I both have been making distinctions between the legal and the societal aspects of this. I just assumed that, having been enlightened that it isn't nice to invite all but one, people would feel some obligation. Or at least some guilt over not having met that obligation. Or at least quit piling on those not invited for being whiners.
