<back-to-school sales are going well and augur a good second half> At 30% discounts per the 10lbs of sale ads in Sunday's paper. And based on the students in my wife's class, where 80% of the kids don't have half the required/suggested materials in week 3 and after the State Sales Tax Holiday, I'd say that households are tapped out. Or they just don't buy and let the poor teacher scavange it for them from donated supplies. Donated supplies which I guess were bought somewhere. And the clothing sales must all be weighted toward winter clothes, cause half the kids look like they just rolled out of the Goodwill store after stocking up on summer hand-me-downs.
