More and more people around the world are starting to make America into a convenient scapegoat for the world's problems. All this just because America wouldn't be a "global team player." First this world needs more team players instead of leaders running off half cocked. Secondly, there is a majority view [in the world] that the war in Iraq was unnecessary. Most of the reasons supporting that majority view have been proven correct. And now, the global majority view is fast becoming the majority view here in the US. Now, its possible the American conservative position is the right one but its not very probable. There is too much evidence coming in that pretty much disputes the basis for their position. You would think that would cause them to stop and listen.......instead their back is up even more. Its the arrogance of the right that they know what's best in the face of this global opposition that's fostering the hate against America in the world. In other words, its not because we are fighting the good fight that's p*ssing people off. But rather because we arrogantly believe we are doing God's work and are acting accordingly, refusing to listen to the opinion of others. For a while tonite, I watched hannity and colmes. Its amazing the things Hannity was criticizing G. Davis for........they were things that could have been said about the Bush administration. In fact, at first, I thought he was talking about Bush. The irony that there are similarities seemed to escape him. However, it was clear the arrogant and pushy approach he uses on the show was no longer working.......the people guesting on the show all but flipped him the bird instead of being neatly intimidated like they would have been 6 mos ago. Although he seemed frazzled, the *sshole still doesn't get it! Read what D. Ray is posting.......he really believes that the rest of the world is beholden to us and would not exist if it weren't for us. Its the view of a provincial but even if it were true, you don't rub it in other peoples faces. And that's what the Bush adminstration has done, alienating so many of our former allies. And the D. Rays of the US blindly support him. The Hannitys and the Rays are not what we need now. If we keep this up, eventually our enemies and former allies will unite against us. There is a power vacuum in the world that wants to be filled. And while we are a superpower, we're could not withstand a strategic coalition of several countries. Its something to think up about with the right so firmly holding to what appears to be an ill conceived and dangerous plan. ted
