Bush was a pilot in the Naval Reserve or Air National Guard, whichever subject to the needs of the Navy. Bush never went AWOL. He could have been sent anywhere and just got lucky or unlucky depending on how you look at it. I spent 8 years in the Navy Seabees. I never was sent to a war zone, but that wasn't my call. I was on active duty in 1991, didn't get sent to the Persian Gulf, not because I have political clout which I do not, but rather I was where the Navy wanted me. Some ignorant folks may read your post and actually think Bush went AWOL or something. Be careful what you write, you only discredit yourself when you write something easily disproved.

I encourage National debate. From 1991 until Mar 2003, war in Iraq was debated. That debate is now over. Don't treat the Iraq war veterans like Vietname veterans. They are a very professional all volunteer force that does what it is ordered to do.
