You seem to take delight in being right about something, no matter how irrelevant. Please enjoy the moment. The UN indeed acted quickly and decisively to contain Saddam's invasion, then mounted the military force to expel Saddam from Kuwait. The US played the lead role under Bush Sr. and built a multilateral consensus under the flag of the UN. It was a remarkable achievement and a moment of which all Americans can be proud.

Bush Jr. accomplished none of the above. He pointedly declared a policy of unilateralism and showered piss all over our key allies. He then led a unilateral invasion of a country that did not threaten the United States and now commands an army of occupation -- one that you incorrectly say is authorized by the UN to occupy Iraq. Bush has taken the US into a unilateral invasion that has severely damaged US interests. His unilateral invasion is not only a costly mistake in human life and resources, it is a source of shame for the US and has generated hatred and disrespect for US policy. The UN has done nothing to authorize the US to occupy Iraq. Your sham efforts to imply otherwise are just that.
