The US might not have figured that those weapons would come back to be a threat to us in the future. I've never stated that the US hasn't make mistakes. But, this world would now be totally under the control of tyrants if it wasn't for America. America greatest generations freed Europe from Hitler, and then helped to rebuild Europe and Japan. We helped to save the Kosovo Albanians from genocide, freed the Afghan and Iraqi people from horrible tyrants, and have helped the Jews of Israel from being murdered by violent, inhuman Muslims. France is providing aid and comfort to our enemy, Iraq, and to terrorist groups elsewhere. All good Americans should boycott French products.
