Japan stocks end higher as select techs recover
TOKYO, Aug 26 (Reuters)

Japanese shares wiped off morning losses to end higher on Tuesday after a bullish report on global tech stocks from an influential industry analyst in the afternoon and the yen coming off earlier highs both mended sentiment.

The yen pulled back to around 117.50 per dollar after rising early in the day, shying away from Monday's one-month highs on wariness of possible intervention by Japanese authorities.

This helped ease investor nerves over Japanese exporters, with top auto maker Toyota Motor Corp gaining in late trade to end the session up 0.31 percent at 3,250 yen.

The Nikkei average closed up 55.93 points or 0.54 percent at 10,332.57, snapping a two-day losing streak.

The broader TOPIX index was up 0.39 percent at 1,001.74.
