Of course, you are prone to ranting - and name calling too - whenever you fail to win agreement with your views.

I notice you post in North American style English using appropriate slang words and expressions. You "sound" pretty "American" in your posts. More so than people who come to America and live here for years.

Never lived anywhere in the US..

Then you must be surprised that the French, or other Europeans irritated with US policies of the past two years are not prone to ranting about the ignorant Americans, so obese they cannot fit in one airplane seat, such fools that they are too dumb to realize they have been lied to, whose children score lowest in international tests of aptitude not to mention cannot even find Iraq on the map of the world, who keep suing each other on the dumbest little issues imaginable, whose "cuisine" consists of the fast food and the snack, a nation of people so alienated, scared, and alone in their cities that they cannot look each other in the eye in the streets.

Message 19244152;

Oh, I see. You have ESP and can intuit things you've never seen. I'd say you are insanely prejudiced and jealous.

Funny what we fat dumb Americans can do, huh? Computers, microprocessors, wireless stuff, jazz, rock 'n roll, Spielberg, Coppola , Capra, the internet, commercial jetliners, people on the moon, Louis Armstrong, Intel, Microsoft, Nike, baseball. We've saved cowardly French collaborators whenever the Germans get bloodthirsty, and on and on and on.....your pretensions make me laugh.

Your criticism of America is nothing but thinly disguised envy. European cultures are moribund because they lack energy, entrepreneurial drive, imagination, and creativity. While your energies are put to use trying to determine whether you'll put bernaise or hollandaise sauce on your horsemeat, we're dreaming up ways to increase bandwidth, invent better way to deal with diseases, etc. In a word, the difference between things that are useless and those which mean real progress.

If you need an injection of spirit, creativity, drive and imagination, come to American and experience it first hand instead of criticizing things you haven't even seen.

We're a big country and live under a big tent. For every fat teenager, there is a Lance Armstrong kicking ass in France (ha!); for every McDonald's, there is an Alice Waters, an Emeril Lagasse; for every Stallone, there's a Streep or a Paltrow; for every bad school there's a Cal Tech, MIT, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Duke....but I doubt that you would ever recognize this since cultural myopia is mind-narrowing.

Why do you think the world's best and brightest yearn to have chance to be here? Perhaps the reason you haven't been here and are so vituperatively anti-American is that you'll never qualify for a visa.

No big loss. We give short shrift to those whose primary avocation is to bitch, moan and complain.
