PENANG, Malaysia -- Intel Corp. chief executive officer Craig Barrett repeated on Tuesday (August 26, 2003) the caution over his company's third quarter sales jump that he offered Monday (see August 25 story), according to a Reuters report.

"We don't know how much of this Q3 is a kickback of a SARS-related spending that didn't happen in Q2," the report quotes Barrett as saying. "We are seeing a stronger-than-anticipated third quarter. The question whether the fourth quarter will continue off of that, based on what we said for the third quarter, we don't know yet," it added.

Barrett, who was on Malaysia's Penang island to launch a new $40 million design center for Intel's local plant, as part of a tour of southeast Asia (see August 14 story).

Barrett is also due to visit China and Korea, during the current tour.

To the WOW List lets add Mr. Barrett. He needs to stop talking once he says something good. Oh and for the upgrade cycle we could high a bunch of industrial terrorists to steal or disable your computer. Does anyone even know what caused the blackout yet?
