It's challenging enough to divine the undercurrents churning in one’s own government. To understand the ramifications of those currents in a foreign government is well beyond my limited abilities – even if we are “separated by a common language”. Hence, I have no choice, but to use the infamous “if”.

If Blair falls, and if that results in a withdrawal of the British forces from Iraq, the consequences for both the neo-con hegemony plan, and Bush’s reelection, are somewhere between severe and fatal.
