There is one other possibility that has occured to me but it is a stretch. We could actually assess a measure of harm done to B. A spoke to B in a way that clearly miscommunicated A's understanding of B's situation. B therefore missed the opportunity to self improve with the aid of advisor A. A saw the flaw in B's outlook but withheld helpful advice, thereby leaving B the worst for wear and thus harmed via missed opportunity. Insult intended...harm done...insult recieved....even though B remained clueless.
