Viruses having positive impact on Symantec sales: USB (SYMC, MSFT) By Tomi Kilgore
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Analyst Gene Munster at USB Piper Jaffray believes recent aggressive virus and worm outbreaks are having a "dramatic positive impact" on sales at network security software firm Symantec (SYMC).
He feels the company's stock will likely move higher for the balance of the September quarter as industry data reflects the increase in business, but expects the introduction of competing products from Microsoft (MSFT) will likely weigh on the stock beyond the fourth quarter. The stock closed Tuesday down a dime at $54.20.
