There is no choice... if we ignore legitimate threats overseas, then we'll have no economy whatsoever, and 9/11 wasn't even overseas... and if you want to see more of that take place in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and other major U.S. cities, then go ahead and discount Bush's efforts in Iraq...
