However,Pakistan rejects Indian demands to hand over 19 suspects

(Updated at 2200 PST)

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s foreign ministry on Tuesday rejected Indian demands in the wake of the Bombay blasts to hand over 19 "criminals", saying they were not in its territory.

The ministry said that besides rejecting Pakistan's offer to investigate the acts of terrorism in India in the past, India has so far not provided any evidence about the presence of Indian suspects in Pakistan.

Indian Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, linking Monday's double bomb attacks to Pakistani-based militants Lashkar-e-Taiba, demanded Islamabad hand over 19 militants on a list first presented by India after a fatal attack on its parliament in December 2001.
