Ted, Let me say this one more time.........disagreeing with your gov't is as American as apple pie. It is not anti American.

You're falling for the liberal definition of patriotism: the will to criticize your government. According to that definition, if you do, you are an independent thinker, a maverick who courageously stands up for what you believe in. According to liberals, that's being a true American.

As for Ritter, I don't mind if he disagrees with Bush or expresses concern that we're going down the wrong path. But the way he utters his predictions, it's like Prof. De Genova. He sounds like he actually wants to be proven correct, no matter how many American lives are lost or how much shame is brought to America. To me, that's an ego trip, not patriotism.

Maher is stupid.......we may still lose.

No, Maher is being honest and admitting that the main part of the war went better than he thought. I don't know what he believes now; it wouldn't surprise me if he is once again thinking America is going to lose.
