It has established a group to oversee the return to flight and another "to change the culture" of Nasa. President George W. Bush issued a statement re-iterating the administration's commitment to manned space exploration. "Our journey into space will go on," he said.

John McCain, chairman of the Senate's commerce, science and transportation committee, called the report a "wake-up call" and said Congress's task would be to implement the recommendations.

Well, while the house is being cleaned as it were, while don't the offices of government do a few self audits? Just to check everything is running smoothly? Rather then look silly if something goes wrong and the unseemly finger pointing starts.
